Objectives

The overall goal of the PR campaign is to improve the image of TVET in Sierra Leone.

Specific Objectives

In order to achieve the stated goal of changing behaviour or attitudes towards TVET, this PR Strategy has defined the following impact objectives:

  • To motivate parents to consider TVET as an effective route to a career for their children
  • To achieve an increased number of student enquiries for information on TVET courses
  • To increase the number of students choosing TVET courses
  • To increase the number of partnerships between schools and industry
  • To increase the number of teachers interested in teaching TVET
  • To provide information for institutions in TVET development and implementation in Sierra Leone
  • To gain the support of the media in the provision of information on TVET

Specific objectives for accomplishment include:

  • Increased level of information on TVET programmes for potential students
  • Increased level of information for adults about lifelong learning as a way of facilitating professional mobility
  • Increased level of information on TVET programmes for potential employers

These can be measured by:

  • Number of promotional leaflets/brochures printed/distributed
  • Number of events organised
  • Number of people attending/participating in events
  • Extent of media coverage- TV/radio slots, number of press releases submitted/printed
